I always come back to my religion, whether I want to claim it all times or not, but in it most simplistic form Catholicism is something familiar in places that many times seem unwelcoming. Every time I dig deeper I realize that there is so much more to know. My friend Honey has lost a son to gang violence, my other friend has been a junky for 32 years, another is a Vietnam Vet., ex black panther, civil rights activist, ex thief, and exjunkie.
I met a nun from Romania and when I asked her about living in Anacostia she replied "I have no fear when God is with me."
